Here in Spain, the airport of Murcia-San Javier is as sophisticated but far more relaxed. You park your car in front of the entrance/exit, and after a short walk of 50 meters, you are in the hall.
All in all, if everything goes as planned it takes half a day to get here or back. Which is very convenient. We hope he enjoys his stay.
