No, this is not a still from the movie Aliens. Nor is it a new species of tree still in a winter outfit. Neither is it the skeleton of a Carnaval puppet.
It’s a sculpture from the open air museum of sculptures of Leganés (Museo de Escultura de Leganés). This is one of the sculptures in the museum. Which actually is a little park. The park houses some 25 sculptures made of iron, steel, aluminum, or stone.
Strikingly, throughout the city, you will find all kinds of sculptures. In the middle of most roundabouts, there are gigantic rusty sculptures. Mostly figurative. Some are dedicated to Don Quichote and his famous servant Sancho Panza. Others are abstract forms.
