It was very warm today and we ended up near the water again for our daily walk. We walked from the Mirador Cabezo del Gavilan to the puerto deportivo and around the quays. For us, it was nice and cool. But from the look of it, the fish didn’t like it.
They swam almost on top of the water, gasping for air. When the water warms up it contains less oxygen making the fish surface in a desperate search for air.
Making me wonder why they stay in the harbor. I should think the Mediterranean is deeper and hence cooler, so why not go swim over there? In analogy with Asterix, I would say: “funny guys, those fish”.
