There are not many things I love more than walking next to the surf in a nice temperature with a cool breeze surrounding me. How lucky we are to be able to do this frequently.
This beach, Playa de Nares, is just a 10-minute car-drive from our house. Like most beaches over here, it has a blue flag. This is not a warning flag, but a recognition of the state of the beach given by the European Foundation for Environmental Education. Spain is the record holder of blue flags and is rightly proud of that.
Since the grandchildren are going to spend their holidays with us, we now look at the beaches with a different eye. We are able to be picky about it given the ample choices we have.
There are both pebbles and sand beaches. And beaches with a lot of surf and with hardly any surf. And probably there will be crowded and more quiet beaches, but this we don’t know yet, because we have never been here during the summer holiday season.
So far we have only spent some beach time together with the eldest. I am so looking forward to seeing how the youngest will like the water and playing in the sand. (Ah, now I give away one choice that is already been made! LOL).
