I have really tried my utmost not to use plastic during our trip. I didn’t succeed. Sure, once (!) our drinks came in glass bottles, but most of the time the bottles were of plastic.
Whenever I get enthusiastic about something I tend to become a missionary. So I almost ended up in a fight with a waiter about a plastic pestle he had put in my tonic. But then again I am so convinced that something needs to be done about our plastic waste.
So I’ll keep on trying not to use (single-use) plastic myself and convincing other people at the same time that I do that for our children and grandchildren. They will inherit our mess in the end.
